Evelyn-isms

E: [while making a craft] Look mom! It's a medal. It's for saving the earth. Who do you think is going to win it?

Naomi

When I was older I did that.

Inspiration....

While leafing through my dad's old national geographic collection with the girls:

E: Mom? You should look at this one. It will help you think better at work.

E: Mommy? Can you move my desk over there? So I can look out the window and write poems about nature?

N: Look! Look! Oh my goodness...a catterpatter! A catterpatter!

N: [in her sleep] My choc-o-late. Where'd MY choc-o-late go? Chocolate....
E: If the earth starts spinning backwards then the days would get all mixed up and go the wrong way. That's my idea.

New Year News

The truth is that I've just been so busy enjoying my girls and life in general that I haven't made any time to keep up to date with posts and/or photo management. In the coming weeks I'm going to try to make this a priority so I can be sure to document my favourite recent moments.

1. Naomi spends most of her time saying "Me too! Me too!" She says it just as she gets the feeling that something 'may' be about to happen. For example, Evelyn says "Mom, can I..." And Naomi chimes in with "Me too! Me too!".

2. In the same theme, Naomi is in the heat of the 'my' and 'mine' stage. Which includes, as Evelyn moves in to hug me, "My mommy!" Evelyn has cleverly nicknamed her "Myomi".

3. Naomi chipped her front tooth. I have no idea how this happened. But, I did walk into the living room this weekend to find her standing naked, fully upright, on top of Evelyn's 'ridable' 2ft tall pony "Princess".

4. And you really have to see the picture to appreciate this one, but Naomi will wear boots (I mean, just boots), weigh her arms down with about 9 purses/bags full of all those misc. small toys that step on in the middle of the night and stifle profanities, and make you follow her around the house with the shopping cart saying "Shopping day today. Come. Come.."

5. And if you haven't figured it out by now, Naomi is pretty much always naked.
